Not the ballroom variety, but the language of the Ancient Romans!  Some of you may have dabbled in Latin back in your schooldays (probably very badly-taught), others may have not have the opportunity , but have heard it’s really difficult to learn and/ or useless ( well,ok, it is challenging at times, but definitely, definitely not useless).  This group is for both of you. Latin is making a huge comeback in schools these days and the days of chanting amo-amas-amat are thankfully long gone. In this group you will follow a modern textbook to learn to read the Latin language and as you go you’ll learn lots about the Romans, a sophisticated and fascinating society, well-ahead of their time.  A secret of successful language-learning is “little and often”, so the group will need to meet once a fortnight.
